RETURN POLICY
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PURCHASES
Here at Dowagiac Arms, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We strive to make your firearms experience go as smoothly as possible. If for some reason your purchase is defective or needs to be replaced, simply bring the item back to us. As long as your purchase is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, your purchase will be either fixed or replaced by the manufacturer. Once a new product and/or firearm is transferred to you from us or any gun store, it is considered used and no longer new, even if unused or unfired. Because of this, once an item(s) and/or firearm(s) has been purchased from us, all sales are final and there are no returns. Again, if for any reason your product or firearm is broken, defective, or needs to be replaced, simply contact us for a replacement or repair.
ALL ORDERS / SPECIAL ORDERS
Once a product(s) and/or firearm(s) is on order/special order with us, the product(s) and/or firearm(s) is not returnable or refundable once it has shipped from the manufacturer and is on the way to us. If you choose to cancel an order/special order with us before it has shipped from the manufacturer, there is a 30% restocking fee. Upon cancel, this fee is charged to you for our time spent invoicing and ordering a product(s) and/or firearm(s) that you chose to purchase regardless of how long the product(s) and/or firearm(s) take to ship and come in.
LAY-AWAY PURCHASES
For all layaway purchases, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance of the purchase is required to be paid off within 30 days from your invoice issue date. Upon receiving the 50% non-refundable deposit, a background check will be completed by the buyer of the firearm. Your background check is only valid for 30 days from the day it was ran. Failure to complete payment in full on layaway items in 30 days from your invoice issue date will result in termination of the layaway purchase, the deposit forfeited by the buyer and the firearm placed back on our shelves for sale. For an additional $50.00 fee, a 14-day extension may be granted at the discretion of Louisiana Firearms. The additional fee is charged for our time running a second background check for you after the first has expired.
CREDIT / DEBIT CARD FEES
When you choose to make a purchase with us and would like to use a debit card or credit card, we charge a 3.5% card convenience fee. This fee is charged because when payment is taken via a credit card or debit card, this fee is charged to us by card companies. We simply pass this card fee on to the consumer if they choose to use these payment methods. To simply avoid this fee, please pay in cash. All card convenience fees are nonrefundable.
CREDIT / DEBIT CARD REFUNDS
When a refund is issued from us back to your credit card or debit card for any reason, it will take between 3 to 5 business days after issuance to process. The amount of processing time for your refund to be credited back into your account depends on your financial institution. All card convenience fees are nonrefundable.
CANCELLED PURCHASES / DENIED BACKGROUND CHECKS
Cancelled Purchases: If you choose to cancel a firearm purchase with us after you fill out and sign an ATF Form 4473 (Background Check) and an invoice is created and payment is received, there is a 30% restocking fee. This restocking fee is charged to you for our time spent helping you attempt to purchase the item(s) and/or firearm(s) that you wanted to purchase from us.
Denied Background Checks: For all firearm purchases, if you can not pass an ATF Form 4473 (Background Check), you can not receive a firearm from us. If you illegally attempt to buy a firearm from us and receive a denied response from the FBI, the firearm can not be transferred to you. When you receive a denied response from the FBI and can not pass a background check, we charge a 30% restocking fee. This restocking fee is charged to you for our time spent helping you attempt to purchase the item(s) and/or firearm(s) that you wanted to purchase from us.
