Glock 42 Gen 5

Glock 42 Gen 5

Glock’s 380 concealed carry offering is the Glock 42 Gen 5 . In 2014, Glock introduced the new pistol Glock 42. Smith and Wesson had previously had great success with their Smith and Wesson Shield.

Features of Glock 42 Gen 5

The Glock 42 has some special features that set it apart from other 380ACP firearms. Firstly, it was a smart move on Glock’s part to release the Glock 42 before they released the Glock 43. That is to say, if Glock had released the Glock 43, the sales of the Glock 42 would likely not have been well at all.

By releasing the Glock 42 first, a lot of people purchased the Glock 42 instead of waiting for a 9mm variant. In other words, they had no idea whether or not it would. come.

Glock 42 Specifications

  • .380 ACP caliber
  • 6 + 1 magazine capacity
  • 5.94 inch length
  • 0.98 inch width
  • 4.13 inch height
  • 15.87 oz (loaded), 13.76 oz (empty mag)
  • 24 N trigger pull
  • Safe Action system

Alongside the trigger, there’s an additional lever that blocks it from firing accidentally. The only way to pull the trigger is to deliberately pull both the trigger and the safety lever. This feature stops the trigger from firing when the pistol is dropped by accident.

However, this lever isn’t the only thing that keeps Glock 42 from firing when you don’t want it to.  It also has a firing pin, which is another blocker and it connects to the lever.

In addition, its very low recoil makes it a great handgun for beginner shooters. Consequently, shooting is completely easy even if you’re a complete newbie.

Glock 42 Gen 5 is accurate and consistent for concealed everyday carry – or for your bug out bag.

It has not  as many ammo options as for the more popular 9mm caliber.

There are smaller guns with the “right” caliber. The “right” being, of course, the 9mm. But Glock 42 is chambered in .380 with a reason – because that makes it more user-friendly for beginners.
